Who We Are

Your Hosts

Hi! We’re Kyle and Desiree — your hosts at Big Fun Stays TX. We’re proud parents of two young kids and passionate travelers who love creating memories with family and friends. Some of our best moments have come from adventures together, and we’ve hand-selected, designed, and cared for each of our properties to help you and your loved ones make those same lasting memories.

 

We’re local to Austin (where we live just minutes from our two city homes) and we spend lots of time vacationing at Canyon Lake. Because we don’t love the impersonal feel of big hotels or corporately managed rentals, our mission is to provide a personal, welcoming experience. We’re always available to our guests — as much or as little as you’d like — so you can enjoy your stay your way.

 

As a young family, we’ve designed our properties with both families and groups of friends in mind. Over the years, we’ve hosted hundreds of guests, and we’re constantly upgrading and improving our homes so each stay is even better than the last.

What are you check in and check out times?
Check in is 4 PM and check out is 11 AM.
Do you allow early check in?
We do our best to accommodate early check-ins whenever possible! Availability depends on whether the property is booked the night before and how much time our cleaning team needs to prepare for your stay. The best way to find out is to reach out a couple of days before your arrival, and we’ll let you know what options we can offer.
Is parking available on-site?
Yes, we offer on-site parking facilities, making it convenient and hassle-free for you to park your vehicle and have peace of mind throughout your vacation. No need to worry about finding a parking spot!
What amenities are provided in the rental?
Our rental properties are equipped with a wide range of amenities to enhance your stay. You can expect amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, outdoor patio, high-speed Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and in-unit laundry facilities. The pool heater didn’t work, the sauna heater didn’t work, the hot tub must have a leak because the water level kept lowering each day. We weren’t able to enjoy most of the amenities which was why we chose this house. Bummed.

I had zero complaints, which says a lot! Everything we needed, we had! Space was comfortable! To have a pool, hot tub, fire place, open view of the lake and stars, what else could you ask for? A great host as well topped it off! Definitely will revisit!

I can't say enough great things about the hosts or the home. This is an amazing place with 3 floors, LOTS of places to sleep comfortably, and everything you could need for a fun stay. The pool, hot tub, ping pong, corn hole, hammock, sauna, gaming systems, foosball, are all exactly as pictured. There are also lots of extras in the home like coffee, extra floaties for the pool, and plenty of towels. There are thermostats on every floor to make sure it stays comfortable. I was very sad to leave. The hosts were very responsive. They have a mudroom for you to put luggage in before it's time to check in, which was perfect for us since we had some people arriving early and didnt want to drag their baggage to lunch. The cleaning lady Lori was so sweet and made sure to show us many of the extras when we arrived to drop off the luggage. An all around amazing experience. 10 stars!

Kyle was a great host. He was sure to answer all the questions we had, and made accommodations for me and my friends for my bachelor party trip. Overall the house was exactly what we needed. We had enough amenities to keep everyone busy, and enough beds to sleep comfortably. The outdoor tables, fire pit and pool were great features. The ride to the center of town was easy, and the check in and check out instructions were a breeze. I’d recommend this for other bachelor and bachelorettes, but maybe for 13 people.

Kyle offers an amazing stay in Tarrytown! Home was a short uber ride to all our destinations. The location felt safe and homey. The house was large enough for a group of 8 adults. The backyard was very enjoyable to relax in after a night out. The host is very responsive and quick to any questions or concerns. Would stay here again if in Austin!
